The Kastanienhof is a beautiful garden complex with three carefully integrated residential buildings, offering a green oasis despite its central location. In 2024, the project was awarded the "Gärten & öffentliche Räume Wallis" prize, which is only awarded every two years for outstanding projects. The jury particularly highlighted the harmonious integration of natural design, the use of native perennial planting and trees such as chestnut oaks, rock pears, ornamental cherries, and fruit trees, as well as the quiet ambiance. The Kastanienhof is an impressive example of how well-thought-out space and plant concepts can not only increase well-being but also make a sustainable contribution to environmental protection and biodiversity. Right outside the front door, the Kastanienhof unfolds with all its many different corners, which make every child's heart beat faster with wonderful discoveries, and in the middle, a lovingly designed playground that gives room to romp and laugh. While children explore the secrets of nature, adults find the perfect opportunity in the quiet greenery to reflect on the essentials and leave everyday stress behind. Whether big or small, the Kastanienhof offers an ideal place for everyone to enjoy a picnic under the open sky with friends.
