Minusio borders Muralto, Orselina, Brione, Contra, and Tenero. The train stations of Muralto and Minusio offer a good connection to public transport throughout the Locarno area to Bellinzona and Lugano. In Rivapiana, the "lakeshore", lies the Catholic church of San Quirico. The church, first mentioned in 1313, was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century. Inside the church, remains of Romanesque paintings from the 13th century are preserved on the south wall. The Romanesque bell tower from the 13th-15th centuries previously served as a watchtower. The church has a public park with a beautiful view of the lake. Not far from it, located directly on the lake, is the defensive structure Cà di Ferro, a castle-like building. This was built by the Urner military entrepreneur Peter A Pro from 1540-1580 as a recruitment barracks for Swiss mercenaries (Reisläufer). The chapel dates back to 1630.
